Butterfly Ballet was founded in 2012, by Catherine Loveless, Royal Ballet School trained and a former professional dancer with English National Ballet.
Weekly classes are held in Barnes & Clapham Junction and offer high quality Ballet classes from Baby Ballet through to vocational.
“I wanted to create a School that offers excellent training, but much more than that, a place that offers an environment that is inclusive, warm and nurturing.”
Catherine Loveless, Principal
Message from the Principal
“Hello and welcome!
The ethos and values of our School are all about positivity and support. From those first moments in Pre-School right through to Senior School. The most important thing to me is not whether your child can skip, or what exam result they will get, it’s how they ‘feel’. My brilliant team and I subscribe so strongly to the importance of positive mindset and to dance being a space where a child can feel free, safe and supported.
Butterfly Ballet has been loved by many over the 10 years it has been created. With many original pupils now teenagers it felt the right time to develop a Senior section to the School. Enter stage right - Bridge Ballet! I love the analogy of a bridge taking the children from younger to older and the adventures that may bring and am so excited about what the next 10 years hold.
We look forward to welcoming your child and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.”
Miss Catherine
The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD)
The Royal Academy of Dance is one of the world’s most influential dance education and training organisations, operating globally in 85 countries. It is an examination board that all our teachers are trained in, enabling pupils to take Exams at the stunning new Headquarters in Battersea.
RAD exams are recognised by the national qualifications regulators of all for UK nations (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) with selected exams also carrying a UCAS tariff towards university admission
We firmly believe that Exams can be an exciting and progressive element to a child. We make sure that every child goes in prepared and happy, resulting in an experience where they feel super proud of themselves and associate exams with fun and fulfilment.
Affiliate Training and Assessment Programme (ATAP) - Royal Ballet School
We are very proud to share that we are just one of 25 recreational schools in the UK that has gained affiliation status with Miss Catherine being a Royal Ballet School affiliated teacher.
This programme of work the Royal Ballet School has developed, provides a unique training programme which encourages a love and knowledge of the art form as a whole. Elements include Repertoire, Creative Dance & Choreography as well as all the insights and training vocabulary that the Royal Ballet School use to train their own students. It runs along our RAD Grades and offers optimal training for the children which we are extremely proud to offer.
