Exams
All our teachers are qualified and registered teachers with the Royal Academy of Dance meaning we can enter them into exams.
We start this journey when the child is in Year 2, taking their RAD Primary exam. The children can then work their way up through to the Senior grades of 6- 8, or the vocational route of Intermediate and Advanced. Exam results from Grade 6 also count towards UCAS points when applying to a relevant course at a university or higher education in the UK.
Whilst we get excellent results, it’s far more important to us that the process of taking an exam is about learning a life lesson of working hard towards a goal and doing your very best. Our pupils feel so proud of themselves when they come out of the exam, they have managed their nerves and gone on to conquer.
However, exams are not mandatory. If your child does not want to enter then this does not impact progressing. They can either do a simpler version of an exam, or they can bypass them all together and still move up the grade.
